04/06/09 Company Meeting

In this weekly meeting we discussed many things, including a new possible client for Erixx and the procedures the company would have to take out at Welton Primary School.

To make the customers experiance better for all of our new clients at Erixx, we are also planning to host sample sites that the customer can choose, which means choosing the design for a web site has just got that little bit more easier.

For advertisng purposes, we plan to launch a new campaign to make the general public more aware of our services. The campaign will hopefully start in time for the end of term in 6 about weeks.

Welton Update

Over the last few weeks Erixx has been working on a list of updates for Welton primary school. All the updates have been succesfully completed and are now live on the new Welton website. Also the new autmatic newsletter updater is soon to be avalible to use. This means that we can now update new newsletter quickly and to everybody’s satisfacation.

Erixx meets with Welton Primary School

On the 19th March 2009, four members of the Erixx tean had a meeting with the primary school to negotiate future plans for the website. After much discussion and negotiation, the staff both at Erixx and Welton Primary decided that the web company would only be updating the website, which consists mostly of uploading newsletters, updating diary dates and keeping close maintenance on all of the pages on the site. Even though the meting was considored lengthly, the feeling at the end was the meeting was extremely productive.

Welton School will now send us pieces of information that we will upload, and we hope to work with the school for a large period of time.

Company Meeting – 12/03/2009

Yesterday we had a full meeting with only one member of the company missing.  In the weeks meeting we discussed issues about Welton Primary School, our own website, the Children’s Society Website and New Business.

As far as Welton Primary School is concerned we are now completing the final preparations in order to begin the transfer, bringing their website onto our servers.  In order to complete this process we are now researching to find-out who the domain name is registered with in order to get hold of a IPS tag which will allow us to transfer the domain onto our servers.

On next Thursday Myself, Mike Tavinar and Ben Pearson will be travelling too the primary school in order to work with them and get as many updates done to the website as possible.  By attending this meeting we will be able to meet with the client, discuss their website further as well as upload as much material to their website as possible.

We also plan to upgrade our own forums over the next few weeks in order to integrate them with the current CMS [Content Management System] that erixx is using so that sessions and accounts are shared accross the website.  In order to do this we will begin using BBPress.

On the down-side the Childrens Society has decided to have their website for the Pupil Parliment due to loss of interest on the topic by the children involved.  We have been ensured that it is nothing to do with the services that Erixx has provided, but purly down to the children involved.

Navigation Bug

A quick update on the navigation error bug. It has now been fixed and the menu is fully operational again.

RSS, Atom and Email Subscription Online

A quick update here on a few new features added to the Erixx website. We have now Added RSS (Really Simple Syndication) and Atom feeds to the website. These are now live, and links can be found in the sidebar.
Also, we have now added Email subscription that will send you any updates that have been made to the Erixx Blog.
A quick update on the navigation bug, we are still working on a fix but hope to have it fully functional within the next 48-hours.

Navigation Bug

Many of you may have noticed that since we uploaded our new banner yesterday the ‘Staff Area’ drop-down menu has not been working properly.  We are currently working hard here at Erixx to try and find a fix for this bug.

Erixx Business Presentation

On the 12Th of February 2009 four Erixx members and Mr kluth made a presentation in front of 4 successful primary school headteachers. Mr kluth started the presentation by talking about the background of Erixx and how it effects us students in the curriculum. Then Dan Groves took over by talking about his part in Erixx and how Erixx has helped him choose his career path and future. Now Jack Presley took over by talking about how he is learning CSS and HTML skills and he wants to be able to make more interactive and aesthetically pleasing websites.

Clients

We at Erixx are looking to find new customers to be able to give them high level websites at affordable prices. Although we currently do not have any new customers or new business we are looking at making test servers to enhance our service to new customers. Also a member of the Erixx team is looking at advertising to be able to reach to a wider range of people who would want websites in their name, although we may advertise our main audience is to give websites to local primary schools at affordable prices.

Erixx.co.uk Version #3 – Live

After weeks of de-bugging Erixx.co.uk verion #3 is finally live!

The new design features a faster loading and leaner design, with added capabilities that allow us to keep you up-to-date on what is going on within Erixx.  We plan to do a minimum of a weekly update of our all-new website Blog – providing new information on the latest client, contracts and website launches!
